Abbie and James’ wedding – A Fabulous Friday
We had the pleasure of meeting and hosting the wedding of this gorgeous couple originally from Bolton but living in Cornwall and it was definitely a weekend to remember.
Guests arrived at Ta Mill on Thursday night and enjoyed a get-to-gether with a few drinks and a cornish pasty (or 2) along with informal drinks after they settled into their cottage or lodge. On the Friday, after a morning relaxing and getting ready, the ceremony took place on the lawns with vows promised under the pegoda in the bright sunshine of a beautiful September day. Abbie and her bridesmaids were pampered by Stephanie from Bliss Hair studio and Hannah who did a super job with hair and make-up. With a grey and blush pink theme the decorations were subtle and seasonal and complimented the luscious gardens. A fabulous garland adorned the pegoda and there were fantastic floral displays in the churns, along with the brides bouquet and bridesmaids posies all created by Flower Scene. The sun shone down on the celebrations as guests were treated to Aperol Spirtz and a stunning display of charcuterie, dressed crab and carpaccio all prepared on wood fired grills in the courtyard area by WoodFired Weddings. More food delights followed with the wedding breakfast of slow roasted smoked beef and chargrilled lobster tails being served in a marquee on the lawns.
Under the warmth of the September sunshine the guests returned to the courtyard for an alfresco late afternoon of dancing and celebrating to the wonderful sounds of Front Cover, a 3 piece acoustic duo followed by Mike from Ocean City DJ’s who kept the party going until midnight in the courtyard room. The next day, guests were treated to brunch from The Shellfish Pig followed by rounders on the lawns. All in all, a fun time was had by all over a three day celebration with guests making their way home on the Sunday morning after a thoroughly enjoyable time.
“Thank you so much we had such an amazing day/weekend” Mr and Mrs Catherall.
