Lauren and Joe’s Wedding

We were over the moon that Lauren and Joe chose Ta Mill for their big day, and what a wonderful day it was! Lauren and Joe married outside by the lake, and then had canapés and drinks in the beautiful Ta Mill courtyard.

With family and friends spread around the country, Lauren and Joe didn’t have one place in mind for their wedding. They decided that it would have to be a ‘weekend wedding’ celebration because so many of their guests would have to travel wherever they chose

“It was important to us to find somewhere where we could have a relaxed feel and lots of outdoor space in the countryside, without strict time constraints or pressure to use certain vendors etc”

Joe is from Devon and they both love Cornwall, when they visited Ta Mill they immediately knew that it was the perfect place for them. Lauren and Joe stayed a couple of times before their wedding, and we provided them with lots of helpful advice, ideas and options to help make the whole weekend everything that they wanted.

Everyone was invited for drinks, pizza and nibbles in Ta Mill for Friday night, which was a great chance for the families to meet and to catch up with friends.

Lauren and Joe married outside by the lake, and then had canapés and drinks in the beautiful Ta Mill courtyard. Followed by a relaxed wedding breakfast with speeches in a marquee.

Wanting something more relaxed than a formal sit-down meal, Helen from Ta Mill recommended Sue from Big Pan Parties. They decided to have a huge Paella and a vegetarian Moroccan style stew, which both looked, smelled and tasted amazing! They were based outside of the marquee and cooked in huge pans. The food was really colourful and it worked well with people going up and collecting their choices in groups of tables.

After the wedding feast everyone gathered for drinks outside whilst the marquee was set up for the Ceilidh band, called Sheer Hoppidy. Sheer Hoppidy were great at getting everyone dancing having a Ceilidh is great for people to meet and mix together. For the evening they had made their own playlist and hired equipment, and Joe’s brother Sam DJ’d for them.
